JOB SUMMARY

Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment, performs repairs and scheduled maintenance work based on customer needs and requirements. Dedicated to customer satisfaction, responding in a timely, polite and professional manner.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Effectively analyzes problem situations pertaining to breakdowns of customer equipment and recommends action necessary to correct situation to customer.

Exhibits a professional demeanor, promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.

Observes, analyzes and determines corrective course of action for service and repair of customer equipment.

Makes appropriate equipment repairs or modifications in a professional and productive manner.

Efficiently performs scheduled maintenance on equipment for contracted customers according to Brauer Scheduled Maintenance policies and procedures.

Accurately and neatly documents each service call, providing the necessary paperwork for each service call.

Observes all safety procedures, makes certain that hazardous waste is properly disposed.

Account for 100% of paid time.

Cooperatively performs additional duties when assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

Maintains the company service vehicle in a clean, orderly and hazard-free matter.

This includes the responsibility for the performance of regular maintenance (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, etc) and that required repairs are performed.

Have and maintain a good driving record.

Secures and maintains service and parts inventory in service van.

Responsible for providing personal tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.

Responsible for keeping work area clean and free of clutter.

Responsible for following customer’s safety and housekeeping guidelines when performing repairs at customer site.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Effectively communicates with customers, co-workers and management.

One to Three years of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience in a similar environment or equivalent in college or vocational education.

Ability to read and understand necessary service and training manuals including schematics.

Ability to use electrical diagnostic instruments.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Can safely operate power tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a variety of customer environments including manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, and out of doors with exposure to elements. Generally exposed to oil, grease and dirt. Potential exposure to equipment moving hazards as well as exposures to chemicals and solvents that require knowledge of safety procedures. Noise level varies from customer to customer, but is usually in the moderate to noisy level.

This position also entails the necessity to occasionally work after normal working hours or on weekends based on customer need, as well as the ability to travel overnight, generally by automobile and occasionally by airplane.
